Urbana police investigate armed robbery of cab driver

URBANA — Police are investigating the armed robbery of a cab driver Friday afternoon in Urbana.

According to a police report, a 49-year-old Urbana man was driving a cab and picking up a customer in the 700 block of North Mathews Avenue at 1:32 p.m. Friday to take him to an address in Champaign.

The passenger pulled out a gun, took cash and keys from the cab driver and ran away.

The description of the robber was incomplete.

The cab driver was not injured, according to police.

So the party line here is that the cab driver,who had the fare in his cab,who was flagged down by his fare has NO CLUE as to what the guy looks like? Really?
