DANVILLE — A 65-year-old woman remained hospitalized Wednesday with injuries she received when she was thrown out of a car Tuesday afternoon in Vermilion County.
Illinois State Police at Pesotum said Joshua G. Keith, 29, of Danville was driving south on Illinois 1 about 2 miles north of Danville at 4:30 p.m. when he got distracted while talking to his passengers.
The report said Keith lost control and left the road, going into a ditch. He overcorrected his steering and the car began to fishtail.
Back seat passenger Betty Keith, 65, no address given, was thrown from the vehicle. She was listed in fair condition at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Another passenger was not injured.
Joshua Keith was ticketed for improper lane usage.
