U.S. urges vigilance as 9/11 anniversary nears
STATEMENT BY SECRETARY OF HOMELAND SECURITY JANET NAPOLITANO URGING PUBLIC VIGILANCE
“As we head into the 9/11 anniversary weekend, we continue to urge the American public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement authorities. Simply put, if you see something, say something.
"We take all threat reporting, including the recent specific, credible but unconfirmed threat information, seriously. We continue to be in close contact with our federal, state and local law enforcement partners to ensure that all steps necessary to mitigate any threats are taken. Our security posture includes a number of measures both seen and unseen and we will continue to respond appropriately to protect the American people from an evolving threat picture both in the coming days and beyond. Homeland security is a shared responsibility, and everyone plays an important role in helping to keep our communities safe and secure.”
This great nation is reaping what it has sowed across the world. How can our leaders expect to crisscross the globe, destroying human life through acts of declared and undeclared war without expecting the war to come to their doorstep? I deplore all of the violence. Only fools don’t realize that our nation is going to be rained upon by nuclear missiles in the not so distant future. The argument has always been that we will retaliate and obliterate any nation that attacks us. How quaint! I think rather than living in fear we should rejoice, so together we can enter this new age of chaos. They can’t protect what does not want to be seen until it exposes itself, which may be when it is too late. Have a happy 911 folks.
