Paris woman killed in two-vehicle crash

PARIS — A Paris woman died following a two-vehicle crash in Buck Township in rural Edgar County on Saturday afternoon.

According to police and coroner's reports, Dale E. English, 58, of Paris was driving a 2000 Mack semi-tractor east on Illinois 133 about three and a half miles west of Paris and was making a right turn onto County Road 925E when his vehicle was struck on the side by an eastbound 1996 Dodge pickup truck driven by Roberta L. Shivlar, of Paris, about 4:42 p.m. Saturday.

Ms. Shivlar was pronounced dead at the scene by Edgar County Coroner Peter Templeton. Police said she was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.

English was taken to Paris Community Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

State police were assisted at the scene by the Paris and Redmon fire departments, the Edgar County sheriff's office and Edgar County Special Service Area Ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation by state police and the Edgar County coroner's office.
