Danville police investigate home invasion, shooting
DANVILLE — Police are investigating a Danville home invasion and shooting that sent a man to the hospital Tuesday.
Deputy Director Doug Miller said the home invasion occurred around 12:30 p.m. at a house at 232 Grace St. on the southeast side of town. He said a female occupant and a man were at the residence, when two suspects broke in.
"Some type of fight ensued between the occupants and the suspects, and one of the suspects sustained a gunshot wound," Miller said, adding names were not available yet.
"It doesn't appear to be life-threatening," Miller said of the man's injuries. He said the man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Miller urged anyone with any information about the incident to call the police department's criminal investigation division at 431-2246 or Crimestoppers at 446-TIPS (8477).
Sounds good. You break into somebody's home with malicious intent, you leave on a stretcher or in a body bag and we all sleep easy knowing that the universe remains balanced.
Let's just hope IL legislators haven't gutted Castle Doctrine while promoting felony wiretapping for pulling out your iPhone in public.
