Urbana man pleads innocent to drug charges
URBANA — An Urbana man is being held at the Champaign County Jail after police found suspected heroin and suspected marijuana in his home on Monday afternoon.
Michael L. Barlow, 40, who listed an address in the 1100 block of South Lierman Avenue, pleaded innocent on Tuesday to unlawful possession with the intent to deliver heroin and unlawful possession with the intent to deliver cannabis.
According to a police report, officers got a search warrant for Barlow's home following an ongoing investigation by the Urbana Police Department's street crimes unit.
When police arrived at the home to execute the warrant at 2:09 p.m. Monday, they found 9.11 grams (about 0.3 ounces) of suspected heroin packaged in eight baggies, 22.5 grams (about 0.8 ounces) of suspected marijuana packaged in 20 baggies, a digital scale, and $1,120 in cash in Barlow's home and arrested him.
Judge Richard Klaus set Barlow's bond at $75,000 and scheduled his next court appearance for Jan. 10.
