Two taken to hospital after collision in Urbana

URBANA — Two people were taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Urbana Wednesday evening.

An Urbana police report said James Risatti, 69, of the 300 block of West Delaware Avenue, Urbana, was driving his car south on Broadway Avenue just before 8 p.m. when he ran a red light and hit a car that was eastbound on University Avenue.

The driver of the other car, Cara Clark, 46, of the 2500 block of Willow Road, Urbana, as well as Risatti's passenger, Leslie Risatti, 68, also of the West Delaware address, were both taken to Carle Foundation Hospital for treatment. No information about their conditions was available Thursday.

The report said Risatti admitted he had consumed a small amount of alcohol and was taken to Carle for tests to see what his blood-alcohol content was. The results were not immediately available.

He was given a ticket for disobeying a red light, the report said.
