Bement woman's car crashes

SEYMOUR — A Bement woman was taken to an area hospital Thursday afternoon after her car rolled over on a rural road in western Champaign County.

Thomas Utz of Bement told News-Gazette photographer Robin Scholz that his daughter, Desiree Utz, was driving south on County Road 200 E, also known as the Seymour Road, when she apparently lost control in loose gravel. The car rolled over,

Desiree Utz was able to call her father, and he was on the scene with a sheriff's deputy.

He believed his daughter was on her way home from Parkland College at the time of the accident, which happened about 2:20 p.m.

The young woman was conscious and talking when she was taken out of the vehicle.
