Villa Grove man killed in car crash
VILLA GROVE — A 40-year-old Villa Grove man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-car crash just east of Villa Grove Tuesday night.
Douglas County Sheriff Charlie McGrew said deputies and emergency workers were sent to a soybean field on County Road 1450 near 1800 E at 9:42 p.m.
They found Frank H. Page outside a 2003 Corvette, dead from traumatic injuries.
McGrew said the preliminary investigation showed that Mr. Page was driving west on 1450 N when his car left the road, hit a ditch embankment and overturned several times.
Not wearing a seat belt, Mr. Page was thrown from the car.
McGrew said deputies believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
I am completely heartbroken, such a tragic loss! My sons & I have many happy & wonderful memories of Frank...I was swept off my feet by him, we spent many happy times together throughout our relationship. I will always remember all of the good in him. Our hearts go out to his family, everyone affected & mourning. Love ya Frank always! Love, Respect & our deepest Sympathies, Jeana, Vance & Ethan
