2 men plead innocent to having marijuana for sale
URBANA – Two Urbana men pleaded innocent Tuesday afternoon to charges of felony possession with the intent to deliver marijuana.
According to a University of Illinois police report, officers pulled over a vehicle near the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Green Street, Urbana, for a routine traffic stop at 8:48 p.m. Monday. Police arrested Chigbogu Ezeofor, 22, who listed an address in the 300 block of West Springfield Avenue, Urbana, for possession of more than 500 grams of marijuana with the intent to deliver and for illegal transportation of liquor.
Ezeofor's roommate, Boladale Omotoyinbo, 22, who listed an address in the 300 block of West Springfield Avenue, Urbana, was arrested for possession of more than 500 grams of marijuana with the intent to deliver.
Police said they seized 1.4 pounds of marijuana, $4,365 in cash, three high-definition televisions and other electronic equipment from the two men's apartment.
Judge John Kennedy set bond for each of them at $25,000. Their next court appearance was set for Nov. 17.
