Ludlow kitchen renovation 'a huge thing for a small school'
LUDLOW – Ludlow Grade School's superintendent "learned a lot this summer in kitchen (remodeling)."
Dru Lobmaster updated the school board this week on the status of the funds for the district's new kitchen hood ventilation system, a project that took all summer and $30,960 of the school's health, life and safety fund, to complete by the start of school Aug. 11.
"It was a huge thing for a small school," Lobmaster said.
In other business, the board voted to close the scholastic bowl fund and disperse the money into the band and chorus fund. The school has not participated in scholastic bowl for many years, Lobmaster said.
The board also voted to close the debt services fund in the amount of $6,792 and transfer the money into the transportation fund.
Lobmaster said since the school had no debt, the money should be moved into the transportation fund, the area that needed the most money.
"If we have (any) debts (in the future), the money will roll over," she said.
