Schools of Choice forum postponed by pastor's funeral

CHAMPAIGN — A community forum on the Champaign school district’s Schools of Choice process, scheduled for Thursday, has been postponed.
The forum was to be at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Visitation and funeral services for the Rev. Lundy Savage, pastor of Mt. Olive, will be at the church Thursday evening and Friday morning.
The forum will be rescheduled.
It is the third and final Schools of Choice forum this year for parents to learn more about the schools and the district’s kindergarten registration process. Registration for the magnet schools at Garden Hills and Washington elementary schools is going on now and continues through Monday. Kindergarten registration for all other elementary schools is during the month of March.
