Jackson Street public meeting
A public meeting will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday on improvements to Jackson Street, at the American Legion on Jackson Street, and the city hopes all interested residents in the city will attend.
At previous public meetings on the Jackson Street project, the city gathered information and opinions from city residents on how they would like to see it improved. Key items they asked the city to focus on include:
- The overall need to improve the condition of the street, curbs and sidewalks.
- Reduce vehicle speeds and noise.
- Protect pedestrians and bicyclists and give people the ability to walk and ride without competing with traffic.
- Improve the intersection of Jackson and Voorhees streets.
- Preserve the neighborhood by improving the appearance of Jackson Street.
- Account for school-related traffic at North Ridge Middle School and Edison Elementary School.
