Volunteers needed for cleanup in Vermilion County

DANVILLE — Volunteers still are needed for Keep Vermilion County Beautiful's Great American Clean Up on Saturday.

This year's cleanup will feature multiple projects, coordinator Lynn Wolgamot said.

In Danville, cleanup plans will focus on a planting project at the Douglas Discovery Garden in Douglas Park, painting and planting projects in downtown Danville and picking up litter at various sites.

All volunteers will be treated to lunch at Douglas Park, which will serve as headquarters for the activities.

Other communities including Hoopeston, Fairmount, Jamaica and Ridge Farm, also are holding cleanup activities.

To register or get more details on how to volunteer in any community, call Wolgamot at 260-3483 or email her at lwolgamot@vchd.org.

In Danville, pre-registration is preferred. However, walk-up volunteers are welcome at Douglas Park or at the Danville Municipal Building.
