Provena's Danville facility won't lose Medicare/Medicaid status

DANVILLE — Corrective action has reversed the cut-off order for Medicare and Medicaid payments that was set to start Friday at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, hospital officials said late Thursday afternoon.

Corrective action has been taken, and a new inspection was done after the hospital self-reported a fire in an operating room.

"Our operating rooms have never been safer than they are now with improvements we have made," said Molly Nicholson, vice president of patient care and chief nursing executive at the hospital.
