Resurrection chief will lead merged health care organization

The head of the new merged Catholic hospital organization that will include Provena Health will come from the Chicago-based Resurrection system.

Resurrection Health Care President and Chief Executive Officer Sandra Bruce has been appointed to those positions with the new organization to be formed by the proposed merger of Provena Health and Resurrection Health Care. Bruce’s appointment is effective immediately, the two systems said in a release.

Guy Wiebking, president and chief executive officer of Provena Health, will become chair of the board of directors of the new system.

The merger is awaiting state approval.
