Health Alliance: Don't panic over lack of veto override
A vice president for Urbana-based Health Alliance is urging people not to panic over the Illinois Senate's vote Wednesday not to override the governor's veto of Senate Bill 178.
The bill would have extended health insurance contracts for state employees and retirees for two years and changed the way state health insurance contracts are awarded.
Health Alliance Vice President of Corporate Affairs Lori Cowdrey Benso says people remain covered under a temporary contract until June 30.

She also says that Health Alliance is still awaiting a judge's ruling in the group's court case filed against the state over the way contracts were awarded last spring.
