Whole lot of shaking at UI
A new $3.5 million earthquake simulator at the University of Illinois should provide simulations with unprecedented realism and generate information to make structures like bridges better able to survive a quake.
The Multi-Axial Full-Scale Sub-Structures Testing and Simulation facility, or MUST-SIM, located in the UI's Newmark Civil Engineering Lab, was unveiled on Monday as part of the nationwide grand opening for the NEESgrid.
