Area troops going to Iraq

Soldiers from the Illinois National Guard units in Urbana and Danville will be sent as early as next month to Iraq – a move that doesn't surprise them but leaves them wondering about exact dates and plans.

Maj. Tim Franklin, the guard's main spokesman in Springfield, said units were still sorting out the deployments Wednesday.
