Gifts show caring for community

CHAMPAIGN – Lois Dickson spent years of her life caring for aging relatives, first her mother, Birdie James Nash, then her aunt, in their Champaign home.

When Mrs. Dickson needed extra help herself toward the end of her own long life, she turned to the caregivers who had helped her care for her relatives, many of them Parkland College graduates. Before she died Sept. 21, 2004, she rewarded the college that trained them.
