IllinoisTerminal to house center for evacuees

CHAMPAIGN – Local social service providers will open a Hurricane Katrina evacuee service center today at the Illinois Terminal building in downtown Champaign to help hurricane victims who have temporarily settled in the area.

And on Friday, red Salvation Army kettles will be set up at a number of locations throughout Champaign-Urbana where residents will be able to donate cash and checks to assist hurricane victims.
