Forum to address disasters, recovery

Megacatastrophes like hurricane Katrina and the Asian tsunami have been occurring throughout the Earth's history, but the urbanization of the planet and the growth and interconnectedness of its population are increasing the stakes.

University of Illinois and other local experts will discuss the implications of that at a forum set for 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the National Soybean Research Center, 1101 W. Peabody Drive, Urbana.
