Governor's veto on firearm transportation stands

SPRINGFIELD – An attempt to override the governor's veto of a firearm transportation bill failed on Thursday.

The General Assembly passed legislation last spring that would prohibit municipalities from enforcing stricter gun transportation ordinances than state law currently requires. The governor vetoed SB 2104, saying it would weaken local gun laws.
