Central Illinois Municipal Officials Association joins in on fight against MTD proposal

MONTICELLO – Savoy is not alone in its opposition to a bill being proposed by the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District.

The Central Illinois Municipal Officials Association, an organization of area communities with fewer than 20,000 residents, Thursday night unanimously passed a resolution opposing any legislation that takes the authority to create a mass transit district out of the hands of local cities and villages.
