Republican Martin files civil rights suit

URBANA – Gubernatorial candidate Andy Martin sued a who's who of the local legal community on Monday, claiming they were part of a conspiracy to derail his campaign.

The civil rights suit, a federal case that Martin seeks to wage in a county courthouse, alleges that former judges Harold Baker, a federal judge, and Harold Jensen, a Champaign County circuit court judge, current Chief Circuit Judge Thomas Difanis and Urbana lawyer Paul Vallandigham constitute a "courthouse gang."
