URBANA – An Urbana man who claims to have been permanently injured from nutritional supplements he took two years ago has filed suit against the Champaign chemist who invented them and the companies that produced and marketed them.

Chicago attorneys representing Christopher Roney Jr. filed the suit in Champaign County Circuit Court on Thursday, alleging that Patrick Arnold; Proviant Technologies and its president Ramlakhan Boodram; Ergopharm; LPJ Research; and Supplement Central Inc., were all negligent in their production and promotion of the supplements and are liable for injuries he sustained as a result of taking them.
