Monticello city council OKs revisions to downtown facade program

MONTICELLO – The city council approved a much-discussed change to Monticello's downtown façade improvement program. The matching grant program, sponsored by the city and Monticello Main Street Inc., provides money to business owners wishing to upgrade the exterior appearance of their buildings.

"It is a very successful program," said Monticello Superintendent of Services Floyd Allsop. "This year we have approved requests for $14,030 of the $15,000 available."
