Council backs strategies for downtown development

CHAMPAIGN – Champaign City Council members gave enthusiastic support Tuesday night to a document that lays out strategies for the development of the downtown area.

Council members voted 8-0 to incorporate the document, called guiding principles and strategies, into the pending update of the city's downtown plan.
