UI among winners of grants to further state agriculture

SPRINGFIELD – Grants to help University of Illinois scientists study swine breeding and help a Champaign farm develop an agricultural tourism Web site were among the 2006 AgriFIRST winners announced on Thursday.

The grant program is part of the governor's Opportunity Returns economic development initiative and is designed to support new advancements in the state's agriculture industry.
