C-U MTD Board members up for reappointment

URBANA – County board Democrats could vote unanimously for the MTD's board chairman, and it still might not be enough.

H. George Friedman is under attack by board Republicans who blame him for advocating expansion of the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District, through enlarging its boundaries or adding services, such as a trolley. He and another incumbent, Vicki Stewart, a Republican from Champaign, come before the Champaign County Board Thursday evening for reappointment.
