Man turned injury into business to help others
URBANA – Terry Bilbrey raced powerboats in the 1970s. A 1977 accident took him out of the driver's seat, paralyzing him from the chest down, but he continued to work on boats, and in April, his Champaign Taste set an American record.
Mr. Bilbrey, who died Monday at 67, also owned gas stations, rebuilt vans for special needs and served in city government.
