Memo says moldy wood installed at nursing home, then treated properly
URBANA – A county administrator approved allowing moldy wood in the new Champaign County Nursing Home – but only with the understanding it would be treated with powerful mold-killing chemicals, an in-house memo reveals.
The wood was treated properly, and there is no evidence of any further mold problem, said the report from C. Pius Weibel, the Champaign Democrat who is vice chair of the committee overseeing county construction projects, including the nursing home.
