Democrats keep control of Champaign County Board
URBANA – County board Democrats followed national trends and held on to board control, despite efforts to tar them with overseeing expensive construction problems at the county's new nursing home.
Democrats Barbara Wysocki and Steve Beckett, the board's chair and vice-chair, retained their spots in District 9, where Republican John Farney waged an energetic campaign but could not muster the votes in a Democrat stronghold.
