Replacement alderman still sought in Monticello
MONTICELLO – The city removed former Alderman Joe Brown's name and picture from its Web site less than a week after his last council meeting Oct. 23. Finding his replacement has not been as quick or easy.
The second ward seat will be empty for the council meeting today. Mayor Bill Mitze said he hopes to fill the opening before the Nov. 27 meeting. Mitze will appoint the new alderman without confirmation from the council because the appointee is up for re-election in April.
