Late touchdown sinks St. Joseph-Ogden's title hopes
CHAMPAIGN – Nick Nasti and Luis Alvarado each scored three touchdowns and Plano set a title-game record with 532 rushing yards on the way to a 47-42 victory over St. Joseph-Ogden and its first-ever state championship Friday night.
Plano built a 28-7 first-half lead but had to survive a furious comeback by St. Joseph-Ogden, which took a 42-41 lead with 3:09 to go on Mark Gones' 4-yard touchdown run. The Reapers took the ball after a touchback and marched 80 yards to the winning score in just six plays, with Alvarado running up the middle for the final 33.
