Open Meetings Act lawsuit filed against Champaign
CHAMPAIGN – The city of Champaign is being sued for allegedly violating the Illinois Open Meetings Act last week.
The Robert Kirchner Law Office in Champaign filed the complaint Nov. 22 in Champaign County Circuit Court, with attorney Ruth E. Wyman, who works for the firm, named as the plaintiff and Champaign Mayor Jerry Schweighart and the city of Champaign named as defendants.
