Citizens group seeks ban on Tasers in Champaign County
URBANA – An advocacy group called Friday for an end to use of Tasers by Champaign County, citing incidents at the county jail.
Aaron Ammons of the CU Citizens for Peace and Justice, in a press conference at the Champaign County Courthouse in Urbana, said locally and nationwide there have been growing concerns that some law enforcement officers would "abuse their power and torture their fellow citizens and get away with it."
