Emergency meeting held to correct Piatt County budget mistake

MONTICELLO – An accounting mistake forced the Piatt County Board to hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday to correct the approved 2007 budget.

A $4,000 discrepancy occurred on the tax levy for the Piatt County Nursing Home. Voters in November approved a 10-cent property tax rate for maintaining the nursing home.
