Seven family members escape blaze; cause under review
CHAMPAIGN – Seven people escaped from a house fire in Champaign this morning, with only one receiving a minor injury.
Champaign Fire Department spokeswoman Dena Schumacher said firefighters were called to a bi-level house at 3111 W. William St. at 4:22 a.m. When firefighters arrived, all the occupants had left the house, but some had been trying to put out the fire with extinguishers, she said.
