Drug abusers graduate from Vermilion program
DANVILLE – JuJuan Williams strolled happily toward the judge's bench on the fourth floor of the Vermilion County Courthouse to pick up his graduation plaque.
Williams and eight others graduated the Vermilion County drug court program Wednesday, marking the largest graduation class from the probation program since its launch locally in 2001. There have been 18 people who have graduated in all. Four people in Wednesday's class abused methamphetamines, a drug addiction known to be notoriously difficult to break.
