Second man pleads guilty in La Bamba case
URBANA – A second Mattoon man pled guilty Thursday to federal charges of kidnapping of a local owner of a restaurant chain.
Terence Merritt, 18, admitted his role in the five-day abduction of Antonio Aguas, 32-year-old co-owner of La Bamba restaurants headquartered in Champaign. Merritt pled guilty Thursday to kidnapping and use of a firearm in a violent crime.
