Hearing examines NCAA's policy on mascots, symbols
CHAMPAIGN – The NCAA was in the proverbial hot seat Friday morning as some legislators questioned the athletic organization's policy prohibiting postseason games at schools with hostile or abusive mascots or symbols.
Rep. Tim Johnson, R-Urbana, hosted a Congressional field hearing at Parkland College. The topic: the NCAA policy and Johnson's proposed legislation.
