ICC likely to vote on Ameren plan today
SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Commerce Commission is poised to vote today on a plan to phase in the massive electricity rate hikes scheduled for next month.
Ameren customers' rates are set to increase by 40 percent to 55 percent on average after a decade-old rate freeze expires on Jan. 1. The utility wants the ICC to approve an optional phase-in plan to help ease the shock.
