Urbana man shot in robbery attempt; man beaten in robbery

CHAMPAIGN – One man was shot in the leg in an attempted robbery and another hit in the head in a separate armed robbery in Champaign.

According to a Champaign police report, a 23-year-old Urbana man and a 20-year-old Rantoul man were attacked by two robbers shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of West Maple Street in Champaign.
