UI, Berkeley teams test program for sharing virtual stage

Nintendo's new Wii game console – and its innovative wireless controller that you wave through the air to play tennis against or sword-fight with an animated character on screen – has been a hot item this holiday season.

Now, how cool would it be if your opponent wasn't a game console but a real live friend of yours, both of you rendered in 3-D and playing like you're together on the same tennis court or battleground, even though you're separated by thousands of miles?
