Champaign porch fire under investigation
CHAMPAIGN – A space heater too close to bedding is being blamed for a fire that caused minor damage in a converted Tuesday morning in Champaign.
Firefighters were dispatched to 211 E. Bellefontaine St. at 8:41 a.m. and arrived four minutes later. The fire was "knocked down" by 8:53 a.m., Champaign fire Capt. Steve Griffith said.
