Peace postcards aimed at officials
URBANA – Local peace activists are flooding the post-Christmas mail with calls for withdrawal from Iraq.
A coalition that includes church groups like the Quakers and political forces like the Anti-War, Anti-Racism Effort coordinated sending more than a thousand postcards bearing peace messages to Illinois senators Barack Obama and Dick Durbin, both Democrats, as well as Urbana Republican U.S. Rep. Tim Johnson.
