Protection order against beating suspect granted
RANTOUL – A paraplegic Rantoul woman who police say was beaten by a man with a piece of brick in a sock was granted an order of protection against him.
Judge Brian McPheters signed the order Thursday that prohibits Jeremy Price from being within 500 feet of Murlene Brown. She appeared in court with bandages on her head, court officials said. A hearing is set for Jan. 12 on whether to make the order for two years.
