UI prof builds meditation hut for his wife in backyard
URBANA – University of Illinois architecture Professor Jeffery Poss did all sorts of studies and plans for a second meditation hut for his wife. He eventually eliminated all of them and just started construction from scratch.
"I had an idea. I knew I wanted a three-tatami hut," he remembered. "I thought I'd better get started and just figure it out as I went along. It was a different approach to architecture than, say, what we teach in architecture school."
