Authorities identify body as accused murderer
RANTOUL – Authorities Saturday positively identified a man accused of trying to murder his wife as the person who died in a fire in Rantoul Friday morning.
John C. Day, who was 47 when he was arraigned on a charge of attempted first-degree murder in late October, was identified in an autopsy at the McLean County Morgue in Bloomington, Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said Saturday evening.
